The LRC House sits on a sloped plot on a gully in San Isidro. This L-shaped property was built to take advantage of the sunlight throughout the day, with a reinforced concrete structure that carefully regulates itself. The levels of the property were built into the natural ravine, which helps to ensure the existing landscape is not disrupted.
The entire home sits in the rock like a staircase, with descending layers leading down into a courtyard. The ground floor features an entrance hall, as well as the garage and services area. Going up the longitudinal staircase to the first floor, you’ll find the main living spaces – the living room, the kitchen and the courtyard with the swimming pool.
The second level is home to the first of the bedrooms. This is the start of the more private section of the house, with bedrooms and a playroom for little ones. The third level features a terrace garden and lookout studio, with stunning views over the Rio de la Plata river.
Throughout the interior of the home, minimalism is the keyword. The exposed concrete walls and floors are offset by wooden details, including bookcases and furniture, in order to add texture and variation into each room.
