This January, British celebrities Amanda Holden and Alan Carr were back on our screens in “Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job” in their beloved Italy. This time the besties were in the idyllic region of Tuscany, where empty homes are being sold off for one Euro in a bid to bring new life into forgotten towns and villages.

The program (available to view on the BBC iPlayer) features the duo’s efforts in transforming a second property, following their initial renovation project in Sicily. Hoping to repeat their Sicilian success, Alan gets the chance to choose the property they will do up and sell with the proceeds going to charity.

Alan chooses a dilapidated 17th-century townhouse with a medieval watchtower in the rural hamlet of Fornovolasco, which is just an hour’s drive from the mediaeval town of Lucca nestled at the base of the Apuan Alps.

After their summer adventure transforming Alan’s dream home, the property has been listed for sale.
