New Year Review: The Most Popular Articles of 2021

As 2021 has come to an end and we start to look forward to what 2022 might bring for the UK’s property industry, we take a look back at Propertista’s top-read posts of 2021 to see which stories captured our readers’ attention the most…

What a year 2021 turned out to be for property professionals up and down the country…

The year began with the whole of the UK going back into lockdown on the 4th of January after it was revealed that one in 50 people in the UK was infected with Covid-19.

Although the property market was not fully closed down during this lockdown, there were some industry concerns…

The property market had been given a real boost in the summer of 2020 with the announcement of the Stamp Duty Holiday but that was set to end in March 2021 and concerns of the property market falling off a cliff edge were rife. In fact, we needn’t have worried, the property market proved how resilient it can be after it continued to set records even after the stamp duty discount period had finished.

Despite Covid-19 still dominating news headlines, the pandemic did not feature high in our readers’ most-read stories of 2021 even though its effects – seen through changing buyer preferences were clear to see.

See what we mean by taking a look at our top ten most-read articles of 2020 below.
