Five UK Properties You Can Buy For £50,000 Or Less

With the price of houses continuing to break records, it can often feel as if there aren’t any bargain properties around anymore. With this in mind, we set ourselves a challenge to find five potential investment properties across the country for £50k or less. Take a look at the property gems we found.

Vacant Plot of Land with Plans for 3 Properties – Guide Price £20,000

Source Auction House London, Rightmove

Our first potential investment is a freehold plot of land in Bishops Waltham, Southampton, Hampshire, SO32 that has had plans drawn up for the erection of three link-detached houses with garages to the side.

The plot measuring approximately 1,015 sq. m (10,925 sq. ft) is situated on a residential road close to local shops and amenities with the open spaces of Priory Park within easy reach while transport links are provided by the M27 to the south and the M3 to the west.

Looking at the plot it’s surprising there isn’t a residence or more on there already however as the old adage goes, “If it looks too good to be true, it most probably is” so, it is always advisable to check the local council’s website for information on previous planning applications and read the legal pack, which can be downloaded via Auction House London’s website.

The auction is set for 3 August 2022 at 09:45 AM.

3-Bed Terrace with Tenant in Situ, Burnley, Lancashire BB11 – Guide Price £50,000

Source Whoobid, Dorset, Rightmove

The second property we found is a three-bedroom terraced property on Grange Street in Burley, Lancashire with a guide price of £50,000.

This property benefits from a tenant in situ who is currently paying £400pcm. It is also close to the town centre and boasts three stations and four Ofsted good schools within walking distance so will appeal to those looking to commute for work and families too.

The property was previously sold in 2004 for £34,000 (leasehold). Purchasing the lease may be up for negotiation this time around as the details suggest potential buyers should contact the agents Whoobid, Dorset to discuss their buying options.

This property is offered for sale by the ‘modern method of auction’ via online auction. Assuming the reserve is met, the winning bidder will be granted exclusivity of the property at the winning bid price for 28 days in which they must exchange or the vendor is free to remarket the property and the reservation fee will not be returned.
