Five Autumn Property Listings That Come into Their Own This Season

Autumn can be one of the best times to appreciate what a property and its surroundings have to offer. Woodlands burst into rich, seasonal colours, countryside walks become a little cooler and a wood-burning stove suddenly feels far more inviting. For our latest autumn property search, we’ve picked five property listings from around the UK featuring mature woodland, mountain and coastal scenery, an outdoor hot tub and plenty of places to warm up after a day outside. Take a look inside five properties that will really come into their own this autumn.
Four-bedroom farmhouse with woodland and river frontage, Llanwrtyd Wells – £600,000

In the River Irfon valley, at the foot of the Cambrian Mountains, this Grade II-listed stone farmhouse has more than 13 acres of gardens, pasture and established woodland. The wooded hills provide the perfect backdrop for our autumn property search, while inside, exposed beams, flagstone floors and period fireplaces add to its character. A recently installed wood-burning stove sits at the heart of the open-plan kitchen and dining room – just the place to warm up after a leisurely autumn walk.
Outside, the land runs down to the River Irfon and comes with more than a mile of single-bank fishing rights where the river adjoins the property. There could be an interesting opportunity for property investors too: the farmhouse has previously operated successfully as a holiday let and the listing reports returning guests. Several Grade II-listed stone outbuildings also have potential for other uses or conversion, subject to the necessary consents. Despite its secluded position, Llanwrtyd Wells is around two miles away, with Builth Wells 13 miles from the property.
Five-bedroom Highland croft with woodland and wood-fired hot tub, Edderton – £540,000

Native woodland, ponds and a substantial trout burn surround this five-bedroom croft in the Easter Ross countryside, with around two acres of established grounds to explore. There are fire pits, outdoor cooking areas and a Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub, while a separate garden room overlooks the water and woodland. Inside, the autumn appeal continues with a large Charnwood stove in the sitting room, another wood-burning stove in the ‘Whisky Snug’ and an AGA in the country kitchen.
The 2,135 sq. ft property combines the original croft house with later additions and includes several reception spaces, alongside a separate insulated gym, office and store. Its Highland location also puts walking, cycling and fishing within easy reach, along with forests, rivers, lochs and beaches. Tain is approximately eight miles away, Dornoch within 12 miles and Inverness around 31 miles away.
Four-bedroom coastal property with Atlantic views, Mawgan Porth – £995,000

A coastal property might not be the most obvious choice for an autumn property search, but Atlantic View Bungalow makes a good case for looking beyond summer. Its elevated position above Mawgan Porth provides views across the bay and Atlantic Ocean, with the beach a short walk away and the South West Coast Path offering walks towards Watergate Bay and Bedruthan Steps. Back inside, a wood-burning stove takes centre stage in the open-plan living and dining room, where French doors frame the sea views.
The four-bedroom property also has established gardens with mature trees, an elevated terrace, sunken seating area and summerhouse. There could be potential for investors too. The first-floor attic previously had planning permission for conversion into additional accommodation, while the detached garage and storeroom had permission for conversion into a self-contained one-bedroom annexe. Both permissions have now lapsed, so any future development would require the appropriate consents.
Four-bedroom property with woodland and holiday lets, East Williamston – £650,000

There should be plenty to enjoy outdoors this autumn at this Pembrokeshire property, with approximately two acres encompassing natural woodland, a fruit orchard, wildflower areas and a paddock. Oak, rowan, chestnut and silver birch are among the trees within the grounds, while a covered outdoor kitchen and seating area sits in a woodland clearing. There’s even a covered hot tub area, and indoors the sitting room has a log-burning stove and doors opening onto the south-facing garden.
Two self-contained annexes add an interesting investment angle, with valid Certificates of Lawfulness of Existing Use or Development (CLEUD) for use as short-term holiday lets. The main property has four bedrooms, with a study that could serve as a fifth, and the listing also suggests the additional accommodation could have other uses. Located in the rural village of East Williamston, it’s around five minutes from Tenby and Saundersfoot, bringing the Pembrokeshire coast within easy reach.
Six-bedroom property with direct New Forest access, Fordingbridge – £1,250,000

The New Forest is an obvious destination for an autumn property search, and this six-bedroom property has woodland, open heath and miles of walking, cycling and riding country virtually on the doorstep. It occupies approximately 0.63 acres within the National Park, with mature planting and trees surrounding the south-facing garden. Several rooms look towards the forest, including the principal bedroom, which has its own balcony.
At around 3,500 sq. ft, the split-level property offers flexible five or six-bedroom accommodation, with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area leading onto a terrace and heated swimming pool. There’s also a stable block with two boxes and a tack room, which the listing says could have potential for other uses subject to the necessary permissions, although it currently requires renovation. Fordingbridge is approximately three miles away, with Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton also within reach.
