Beyonce and Jay-Z Snap Up Hamptons Home
With a growing family and almost limitless pockets, global superstars Jay-Z and Beyonce have been on the hunt for property to add to their portfolio. Earlier this year they splashed out $88m on an astonishing Bel Air estate – and now they’ve added a stunning home in the Hamptons to their growing collection of breath-taking properties.
One of the world’s most famous couples in the world welcomed twins earlier this year, bringing their family up to five – so it seems that more space was definitely on the agenda. Nicknamed ‘Pond House’, their palatial new holiday home certainly delivers. It boasts seven bedrooms across 12,000 square feet of space – plenty of room for Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir to play and grow.
Situated in the exclusive Georgica Pond area, Pond House sits on a private two-acre site, adjacent to 17 acres of countryside reserve, which is owned by the Nature Conservancy and will guarantee they won’t be overlooked by paparazzi. The amazing mansion also has a 1,800 square foot cottage in its grounds, perfect for hosting celebrity guests or family members. This additional space has a living room, a fully-equipped kitchen, as well as two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
After purchasing a modern, state-of-the-art home close to Los Angeles earlier this year, it seems America’s golden couple have decided to opt for something more classic and traditional with this addition to their portfolio. Their new Hamptons mansion features white oak panelling, parquet floors and carved stone fireplaces, as well as marble bathtubs, an infinity pool and a spacious limestone terrace, ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining.
The property was snapped up for an estimated $26m, and there’s plenty of speculation that Beyonce and Jay-Z were able to negotiate such a preferential price. The property had been on the market for eight (yes, eight!) years before music’s power couple had a bid accepted.
