Amazing Converted Water Tower Goes Up For Sale In Essex
Two water towers converted 10 years ago into a stunning five-bedroom family home, is on the market now in Halstead, Essex.
During travels for their music careers over the years, its current owners have carefully collected wonderful and unique pieces to decorate their home. The most curious pieces of all are dazzling nods to the West End in the form of two enormous theatre signs. One is for Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium, while the other is for Les Misérables that used to be displayed at Leicester Square. The living area is also home to two large, suspended bubble chairs.
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, stated that the reason for moving is to downsize, meaning they are willing to negotiate with potential buyers to keep some of the larger artefacts that suit the property so well.
Currently, the couple live in the main water tower, set over six floors, that features a stunning entrance door set into a beautiful glazed-arch stretching between two levels. It also features two staircases, one that is visible from any floor and the other which remains hidden.
Different parts of the tower are made from ornate Victorian red bricks, while other sections include walls that are five-foot thick. The property has an accessible rooftop that offers great panoramic views plus a double garage, along with a lawn, patio and pizza oven.
While staying in the main tower, they have been renting out the smaller tower, built in 1888 by the Courtauld family, a leader in textiles, to supply extra water to a local yarn factory. The property is being sold for £1.6m and handled by Heritage estate agents.
